Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 21, 2026
Welcome to Tracksy ("we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application Tracksy — Expense Watcher (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
Tracksy is a local-first expense tracking app. The following data is entered by you and stored entirely on your device:
- Expense titles, amounts, and dates
- Expense categories you create or select
- App settings such as preferred currency and theme
Automatically Collected Information
We do not automatically collect any personal information. The App does not require account registration, login, or any form of user identification.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect certain device information and identifiers to serve personalized or non-personalized ads, including:
- Advertising ID (resettable device identifier)
- IP address
- Device type, operating system, and language
- General location (country/region level)
- App interaction data for ad performance
2. How We Use Your Information
The expense data you enter is used solely to provide the core features of the App — tracking, categorizing, and summarizing your expenses. This data never leaves your device.
Data collected by Google AdMob is used to serve advertisements within the App. We do not have direct access to this data. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for full details on how AdMob handles your information.
3. Data Storage and Security
All expense data is stored locally on your device using a SQLite database. We do not operate any servers, cloud storage, or backend systems that receive your personal expense data.
Because all data is stored locally, it is protected by your device's built-in security mechanisms (e.g., device encryption, screen lock). We recommend keeping your device secure to protect your financial data.
If you uninstall the App, all locally stored data will be permanently deleted from your device.
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your personal expense data with any third parties.
Google AdMob
The App integrates Google AdMob for advertising. Google may collect and process device and usage data as described in their Privacy Policy. You can learn more and manage your ad preferences at:
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Google Ads Settings: https://adssettings.google.com
5. Children's Privacy
Tracksy is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to address it.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Since all your expense data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times:
- You can delete individual expenses or all data directly within the App.
- You can uninstall the App at any time to remove all data.
- You can reset your device's Advertising ID in your Android settings to opt out of personalized ads.
- You can request a non-personalized ads experience through your device's ad settings.
7. Permissions
The App may request the following Android permissions:
- Storage: To read/write the local SQLite database for expense records.
- Internet: Required for Google AdMob to load and display advertisements.
- Network State: To check connectivity for ad loading.
No permissions are used to collect or transmit your personal expense data.
8. Cookies and Tracking
The App itself does not use cookies. However, Google AdMob may use tracking technologies such as advertising identifiers and similar technologies to deliver relevant ads. These are governed by Google's own policies.
